SocialCam

SocialCam is a project that I created for my BSc Thesis on the title "Video monitoring system using digital cameras in today's information systems". The project involved the creation of video monitoring system using digital cameras connected via USB to a PCs or digital cameras embedded in laptops. The system diagram is presented below:

SocialCam system consists of several parts:

• desktop application (1) - retrieves the image from user digital camera and sends it to the video server,
• video server (2) - retrieves the image from senders and forwards it to recipients,
• internet application (3) - allows remote image monitoring retrieved from digital cameras. Internet application is a part of the website,
• website (4) - allows users manage their accounts,
• database (5) - stores data needed by SocialCam system to work properly (user account information, user cameras, etc.).
